2022 - 2025
Senior Data Scientist
After several impactful years in Ocado’s Robotics division, I transitioned to the Fulfillment Data Science team to take on a broader, high-stakes challenge: optimizing operations across the entire Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC) network.
This move has significantly expanded my technical and strategic scope, enabling me to lead initiatives that bridge logistics, software, and real-world operations.
❖ Currently leading a high-impact project to simulate and optimize CFC workflows, with a focus on optimizing CFC operations.
The solution is already improving efficiency and unlocking multi million pounds cost savings for our partners.
❖ The work is highly cross-functional, involving close collaboration with stakeholders from 14 countries—ranging from international partners like Kroger
to on-the-ground CFC managers overseeing routing and warehouse performance.
Building state-of-the-art ML systems for
Ocado
Technology’s robotic operations. Led 2 projects as the leading Data Scientist:
❖ Wireless Signal Strength Forecasting Project: We utilized machine learning algorithms and unique signal
data from our bots to forecast wireless network coverage and foresee complications beforehand. This enabled
us to optimize CFC designs accordingly and helped solving the antenna design problem.
❖ Crash Investigation Automation (SQL, Object Detection, and LLMs for Classification).
Data Scientist
❖ Created A/B test settings for bots and worked on optimizing several metrics using the needed number of bots
/bot hours for these tests.
❖ A Wheel Slippage Control Problem: This involves removing a physical sensor and replacing it with a machine
learning model that utilizes accelerometer data, motor torques, and other sensor readings. The aim is to
effectively control and mitigate wheel slippage. The aim was to get rid of a very expensive encoder sensor and
improve the accuracy of the current system. I was doing the Optimization Part of the project.
2020 - 2022
Machine Learning Engineer
❖ Implemented RL algorithms / environments for Automated Stock Market Analysis for
Dcipher Analytics
❖ Led an end-to-end multi class, multilabel machine learning project for Avalanche Risk Prediction funded by
TUBITAK.
2019 - 2020
MSc in Advanced Computer Science
❖ Dissertation: "Pandemic Simulation with Reinforcement Learning"
❖ Area Courses: Machine Learning/ Engineering Reliable and Scalable Project / E-Commerce Systems
❖ Distinction, First Class Honor (4.0 GPA)
2018 - 2019
Software Engineering Intern
❖ Along the way I started to work as a Software Engineer at
KarmaLab.
❖ Later on I became the Lead Software Engineer of a simulation project where I led a group of 15 people from
mixed background (artists/professionals and Phds) to create a digital twin of Koç University.
2014 - 2018
BSc in Mechanical Engineering
❖ Senior Project: "A Haptic Feedback Glove for Virtual Reality" Best Engineering Project Award.
❖ Area Courses: Rocket Propulsion / Finite Element Analysis /Corporate Dynamics for Engineers
